Summary: Clinical trial (no control group) – 30 patients – baseline vs. post-treatment and 4-month follow-up. Radial ESWT applied to patients with shoulder calcific lesions of the rotator cuff resulted in pain relief, increase in the range of motion and increase in the muscular strength. X-ray showed results were associated with a decrease in the size of the rotator cuff calcifications. The beneficial effects remained for at least 6 months.
